BIOGRAPHY:
Paraj Mandrekar is a Senior Research Scientist in the Genetic Identity team at Promega Corporation, specialized in sample extraction, and paramagnetic particle based nucleic acid isolation systems. Throughout a 15 year career in Research and Development at Promega Corporation, Paraj Mandrekar has been involved in the publication of 18 original articles, and the design and development of 19 commercial products. Two of these products (AluQuant™ System and DNA IQ™ System) received the R&D 100 Award in 2002. Mr. Mandrekar received a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University, and a Masters’ degree in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, USA.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
• Sample extraction from various tissue and solid support types.
• Nucleic acid purification with a paramagnetic particle based systems.
• Automation of sample processing for casework sample types.
