Dr. Jing Lin is working as the associate professor and has been an active member of the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Newborn Medicine since 1999. The Division of Newborn Medicine in Mount Sinai. He has organized and performed an American Academy of Pediatric sponsored Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) related research project and several other clinical studies in China. He has authored and co-authored over 40 peer reviewed journal articles. As a clinical educator, he is also interested in global health, mainly focused on improving the perinatal care in China. Since the year 2001, he has been using almost all of his spare time traveling to China 3-4 times a year as a visiting professor to promote the perinatal care and help to implement a new graduate medical education/residency training system in China. In addition, he has been working with the colleagues from the Canadian Neonatal Network on a project in Shanghai to train neonatologists in China. His work in China has made a significant impact and improved the care of neonates in China.  

Dr. Jing Lin's main research focus has been on the role of short chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in the pathogenesis of neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a disease mainly seen in premature infants and a source of significant morbidity and mortality in the NICU.  His other research activities are on the clinical part of the neonatal medicine. By taking advantage of their large patient population.
