BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Kishor K. Bhakat is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics Cell Biology and Anatomy at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. He received his Ph.D. in 1999 from University of Calcutta, India. He carried out his postdoctoral training on regulation of transcription of DNA damage repair gene at University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston, Texas. In 2004, he joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular biology at UTMB. He worked as editorial board member and reviewer for various journals. He published many articles in international journals. 



RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Dr. Kishor K. Bhakat research is mainly focused on Genetic mutation and DNA damage repair, Transcriptional regulation, Oxidative stress, Posttranslational modifications, and epigenetic.
