BIOGRAPHY:
Clemente Maia S. Fernandes received his DDS degree from the Faculty of Dentistry of the Federal University of Pernambuco - Brazil (1994), his MSc degree in Dentistry - Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthesis from the University of São Paulo (2006) and his PhD degree in Dental Sciences - Forensic Dentistry from the same University (2010). He is Post-Doctor in International Health Law (2012), specialist in Forensic Dentistry (2000) and in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (1999), and is finalizing his Law course –LLB (2013). He is specializing in Environmental Law and in Family Health (2013). He is Professor of Forensic Anthropology and New Technologies in Human Identification, Forensic Dentistry, Expert Practice, Deontology, Bioethics, Ethical and Legal Texts: Practice and Interpretation, Ethics and Legislation, Forensic Biology and Criminal Expertise at several graduation and post-graduation courses. He is leader and researcher of the research group, registered in the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), Ministry of Science and Technology: “Nucleus of Forensic Sciences, Bioethics, Biolaw and Ethics in Science and Technology of Araraquara”, Faculty of Dentistry of Araraquara, São Paulo State University. Coordinator of the Forensic Dentistry specialization course at São Paulo State Association of Dentists (APCD), Brazil. He is Member of various national and international societies, has habilitation in Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen Sedation and ATLS (Assistance Trauma Life Support) Advanced Course, American College of Surgeons. Clemente Maia S. Fernandes was Visiting Professor in Colorado and Florida, USA and has a Fellowship at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, Pierre et Marie Currie University, Paris VI, Paris, France. He is “Resource Expert” of Bioethics Beyond Borders, Duquesne University, Center for Healthcare Ethics, USA. Clemente has several peer-reviewed national and international published articles and book chapters, he received several national and international awards and gives lectures and courses also in national and international levels. He actuates as Odontologist Expert in the Forum of Araraquara – SP, Brazil. His main research interests are in Forensic Anthropology; Forensic Dentistry; New Technologies applied to Human Identification; Forensic Sciences and Legal Medicine; Virtual Dental and General Autopsy; Forensic Facial Reconstruction; Health Law applied to the Forensic Sciences, Bioethics and Biolaw. Forensic Facial Reconstruction, Information Technologies Imaginology and Radiology applied to Human Identification, Forensic Anthopology and methods as Palatal Rugoscopy, Cheiloscopy, Earprint, Bitemarks.
