BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Hazem Aqel is presently working as Professor in Medical Microbiology at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Saudi Arabia. He also worked as Associate Professor at Hashemite University, Jordan. He completed his M.Sc. degree in General and Medical Microbiology from University College London and Ph.D. in Microbiology at Birmingham University, UK. He published many articles and attended several scientific conferences.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr. Hazem Aqel’s research interest includes understanding pathogenicity, latency and reactivation of viruses in their host to produce vaccine. He is also interested in how bacterial cells respond to the environment by altering which protein they synthesize and in how bacteria detect and respond to stressful conditions.
