BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Huangui Xiong is currently working as Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience at University of Nebraska Medical Center, US. He has memberships in various professional organization’s and also acting as editorial board member for open access journal publications. He has authored a book, many book chapters and articles.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr. Huangui Xiong is a neuroelectrophysiologist working in the field of NeuroAIDS. Current research in his laboratory studies molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying HIV-1-associated cellular and synaptic dysfunction and injury, focusing on pathogenic roles played by voltage-gated potassium channels and NMDA receptors, in addition to his ultimate goal of identifying potential target(s) for the development of therapeutic strategies.
