BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Li-Ru Zhao is presently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University, US. She completed her Ph.D. in Wallenberg Neuroscience Center at Lund University, Sweden and Post Doctorate studies at University of Minnesota Medical School, USA. she received several honors and awards. She has authored numerous articles, Books, book chapters and abstracts.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr. Li-Ru Zhao’s primary research interest includes brain plasticity, stem cell biology, stem cell transplantation, stem cell response to brain injury, stem cell stimulating factors in brain repair, enriched environment in brain repair, live brain imaging, and live cell imaging. Her research also includes search for the therapeutic strategies in brain repair after stroke, CADASIL, Alzheimer’s disease, and traumatic brain injury; understanding the pathogenesis of CADASIL and Alzheimer’s disease.
