Dr. Zi-Jun Liu is currently working as a research Professor in the department of Orthodontics at University of Washington, United States. He has many publications. He is acting as a peer reviewer for many articles. He authored many book chapters. He has received many research grants. He received many professional honors and awards.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr. Zi-Jun Liu’s research interests include:
- Biology of craniofacial skeleton (growth, remodeling, formation, and biomechanics)
- Masticatory development and muscle physiology, adaptation and plasticity
- Function and biomechanics of craniofacial musculature and tongue
- Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) function, biomechanics and functional disorders (TMD)
- Functional tooth mobility, orthodontic tooth movement, and biomechanics of periodontal ligament
- Dental anatomy, occlusion, mandibular kinetics and TMJ imaging
