Davit Melkumyan graduated Chemistry Department of the Yerevan State University (Armenia) in 1994, with the qualification "Chemist" (degree - specialist).

From 1996 to 2005 he worked in the Research Laboratory of Forensic Science Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia (now - SNPO "Center of Expertises"), as a forensic expert and a senior forensic expert. Has the right to legal production expertises in the field of "Forensic research of fluids containing alcohol", "Research traces and products gunshots" (Forensic Ballistics), "Explosives and blasting research" and "Production of complicated instrumental methods of researches (atomic spectroscopy)."

From 2005 to this day works in SNPO "National Bureau of Expertise" at the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, as a Head of Arson and Explosives Expertises Department. In addition to the above specialties got the right production forensic researches in "Fire and Arson derrises research."

Author and co-author of several methodical manuals and scientific articles dedicated forensic science.
